AFMA hosted its first Media & Industry Day on 6 May 2025, offering a window into the organisation’s strategic direction and its ongoing efforts to strengthen South Africa’s feed and livestock value chains. Bringing together a wide range of stakeholders the day focused on the role of feed in food security and the practical steps AFMA is taking to ensure an efficient and competitive sector.
After a thorough recruiting process and a few challenges, the board is pleased to announce, that from 1 August 2023, Liesl Breytenbach will be appointed to lead the AFMA team as its new Executive Director
The Strategic Agricultural Input Forum (SAIF) and DALRRD signed a letter of engagement marking the acceptance of a gap analysis conducted in terms of the status of the regulatory capacity within the Directorate Agricultural Input Control (AIC).
The new Affiliate Member category aims to provide an opportunity for registered companies that do not manufacture or trade in animal feed products but are providing a service to the feed industry to be affiliated with AFMA. These businesses include consultation services in nutrition, manufacturing, or IT-systems, analytical services (laboratory), manufacturing equipment services, and other related industry associations or non-profit organisations (NPO’s) that are reaching out to partner strategically with AFMA.
